IF YOU’RE A woman, chances are you’ve been subjected to unwanted comments from men on occasion. Whether it’s catcalling or someone telling you to smile, street harassment is unfortunately part and parcel of being a woman.

Now women are sharing their experiences of street harassment and everyday sexism under the brilliant hashtag #NoWomanEver.

It started when Twitter user @ImJustCeej sent a tweet detailing an unsavoury encounter she had had in the supermarket.

Don’t forget those lads who send you pictures of their, er, lad in the hope that you’ll finally notice them.

Or those men who insist on telling you to smile because God forbid you’re not pleasant every minute of your life.

The hashtag has been praised for drawing much-needed attention to the everyday sexism many women endure. Indeed many men tweeted about the hashtag and encouraged other men to have a look.
